Home & Trend Award 2011 – Company of the year 2011

For the design project side by side, Caritas Wendelstein Workshops received the "Company of the year 2011" award in the categories "Social Responsibility" and "Sustainability" from Live Care as part of the "Home & Trend Award 2011".

The press release reads:

"The jury has reached a final decision. The members of the jury are very impressed by your social responsibility regarding the integration of disabled people in our society. The idea of developing and designing a modern and functional product line, and at the same time providing for social support and advancement of disabled people, has been judged very positively. In your choice of materials, you demonstrate environmental responsibility and thus make an important contribution for sustainable production in the region."

The awards ceremony took place on August 26 during the opening ceremony of the Tendence trade show in Frankfurt.

For the Caritas Wendelstein Workshops, the award is a wonderful acknowledgement of the last 10 years of work since the start of the side by side collection in 2001. "We are very proud and happy to pass on the award and the official recognition to everybody involved in the side by side project - especially to the disabled people in our workshop and the 12 other workshops involved, to the dedicated team leaders, to the more than 30 designers and to numerous others who constantly support us", says Sabine Meyer, project manager of side by side.
